Building Project
Because of the need for
more space for worship and classrooms and dining, the church took a big step in
faith and trusted God to begin the new building with groundbreaking on June 15,
2003 and excavation beginning July 6, 2003.
God’s people have been faithful with their prayers and giving and the
project has become a reality. We have a
long way to go to finish, but we believe God is in it and it will happen.
Phase I included the
foundation, steel building, backfill, doors, insulation, floor supports,
flooring, brick work, and rain gutters.
Water and sewer were roughed into the building.
Phase II involved
completing the sanctuary. This included
the walls, stage, back stage attic and ramp, sound-projection booth, heating,
air conditioning, speakers, electrical, and lights. Some of the men of the church designed the
sanctuary ceiling and lighting plan.
What a fantastic idea. Chairs
(400) were purchased and delivered and we are awaiting the carpeting which
should be installed by mid February 2006.
As soon as carpeting is installed, we will move in. When we move in, the old sanctuary will be
used for dining and multi-purpose. Also,
the organ has been rewired and advice was given on where to place the speakers,
by organ master, Andy Seitz of Billings.
Phase III will be to
complete the center section consisting of rest rooms, class rooms, and a large
youth room up stairs. Work has begun and
finances will have to be raised for materials.
Phase IV will be to
complete the gymnasium. This will be an
important part of our ministry to reach many new people.
Phase V is to finish the
outside landscaping and parking areas.
An outdoor master plan was secured from a firm in Billings.
In 2005, dirt was spread to bring the front lot up to the building
doorway grade and gravel was spread over the parking area in front of the new
building. We expect to move some trees
there in the spring of 2006.
Phase VI – Some money has
been coming in for a garage for storing the church van, trailer and lawn care
equipment, and to serve as a maintenance shop.
